Recent word from Mexico this morning.According to our "sources" within the shark research and advocacy community in Mexico the chumming ban announced by the Secretary of the Navy yesterday may not be as it was first reported:
1. The "ban" has not been written into law and as such is just a recommendation.
2. While the dumping of fish parts and blood may be banned, hang baits (primary form of shark attraction) may still be allowed.
Right now the situation in Mexico is still blurry. More news will come in as time moves forward and we'll keep you updated as this story continues to unfold.
